Having seen other families do something similar, we decided to get a studio portrait of Joy each of the first 12 months of her life (and at least once a year thereafter). That way we would have vivid reminders of how much she grew and changed during her first year (and more). Each monthly picture was taken somewhere around the first week or so of that month.
